With all that we as women are responsible for, sometimes we need a breather. It’s important to make time for yourself to alleviate any frustration or becoming overwhelmed. We as women are very strong. We tend to take on so much, sometimes even more than we should handle. Women care considerably more about others, and there are times that we put others before ourselves. When we overload ourselves with responsibility, it can cause stress.
There are many ways to get rest and relaxation, even if you feel as though you don’t have enough time. Here are a few quick ways to take a little breather from work, household responsibilities, or (for some) taking care of children:
1. Take a bath- take about an hour to take a nice hot bubble bath. Get a few candles, a book/magazine to read, or take time out to write. This will give you time away from the chaos as well as relax your body
2. Take a nap- Most times we lack sleep when we have many responsibilities. Therefore, a quick power nap would definitely be healthy, even if it’s just 20 minutes out of your day.
3. Take a walk- Take a stroll around the neighborhood and enjoy the scenery. A change of environment could take you out of your element and put you in a relaxed state.
4. Exercise- Relieve some stress by going to the gym or doing a quick workout in your home.
5. Listen to music- Music can always relax your mind and take you to another place.
In the mix of all of the responsibilities of a woman, remember to take time for you. Alone time to rest and relax, is beneficial to your well-being. After you have taken the time needed to regroup, you’ll be able to function properly and maintain all of your obligations. Then you will be able to make the right decisions when it comes to the well-being of yourself and others.
